| Rhodiola (Red Stonecrop) |
 |
The red stonecrop is a plant that is widely found on the Tibetan Plateau. In many areas, however, their abundance is in quick decline as a result of over harvesting. The red stonecrop is used as a natural cure for high-altitude sickness in Tibetan medicines. Despite the fact that the medicinal benefits of red stonecrop have not been substantiated by modern medical science, the rapidly increasing market for traditional Tibetan medicines has greatly threatened such resources and plants.
