| Tibetan Brown Bear |
 |
The Tibetan brown bear is the largest carnivore found on the Plateau. Although in the past bears were frequently sighted in the high mountain grasslands of Qinghai, today, the bear population has decreased and sightings are rarer. While not common, herdsmen have reported brown bears forcing entry into homes, damaging furniture, disrupting stored grain, and, on rare occasions, even hurting people.
