| Tibetan Wild Ass |
 |
The wild ass is unique to the Tibetan plateau and is a Class-A protected animal. Roughly equal in size to a horse, and more adaptive to the Plateau environment, wild asses are naturally curious and are the most outstanding Plateau ambassadors. Outside of mating season, they generally live in maternal herds, often travelling in single file with an older female leading the troupe. They are good swimmers, and during the summer you may find them enjoying a bath in a river or lake. While sightings of this creature will leave you with wonderful memories of your visit, it is important never try to chase or hurt the wild ass, or any other animal.
