for Eco-tourism

What is Eco-tourism?
Eco-tourism is responsible travel that respects natural areas, conserves natural resources and biodiversity, and improves the well-being of local people.

Hama Valley
Hama Valley is located in the southern corner of Napahai Wetland. It is an important source of water storage for local residents and provides food for many beautiful water and wading birds. These varied and colorful bird species provide great bird watching, a part of the eco-tourism project in the Valley.

Duji Valley, a mountain/forest ecological hotspot, is 4 km away from Hama Valley. Biodiversity abounds as a result of special micro-climates and a wet environment. Special trees and herbs grow and animals, like the giant panda, snow leopard and wild boar have made this their home. Many monks have also chosen this area as their home, and they can also be spotted in the valley practicing Buddhism.

The landscape of Hama Valley changes as the altitude rises, from wetlands at 3200m, to snowy mountains at 4700m. This region has maintained an untouched, almost prehistoric feel, both in terms of nature and local communities. To protect their local environment and unique culture, native people recently came together to develop their own conservation plan and sustainable eco-tourism.
